Events & Announcements
Daylight Saving Time Ends
Daylight Saving Time ends and Standard Time begins at 2:00 AM Sunday, November 03. Please remember to set your clocks back one hour prior to retiring Saturday night. Also, this is a great time to replace batteries in all of your safety detectors (smoke, fire, gas, etc.) and all battery operated radios and clocks!
First Wednesday Parish Evensong
Our next monthly offering of Parish Evensong will be Wednesday, November 05, at 7:00 PM, (in place of Evening Prayer on that day). Holy Eucharist will be at 6:30 PM. Our Parish Evensong is formatted very simply for congregational participation (as opposed to "Choral Evensong," which uses choral settings of the sung portions of this liturgy). If you're not familiar with this lovely form of the daily office prayers, come join us!
A parish workday will be Saturday, October 25 at 8 AM. Come help the Junior Warden’s Crew with property clean up and small jobs around the Parish. Every little bit helps!
Choral Evensong will be sung at 6:00 PM on Sunday, October 26th. The music will include the William Smith Preces and Responses, the Magnificat and Nunc dimittis of Harold Friedell, Psalm 103 set to Anglican chant by G.M. Garrett and C.H.H. Parry, and Edgar Bainton’s And I Saw a New Heaven. Please join us for this traditional Anglican liturgy, one of Anglicanism’s greatest gifts.
All Saints’ Sunday
We are blessed that Bishop Iker's annual visitation falls on All Saint's Sunday, November 2, this year. Please do make a special effort to add your prayers and presence to our worship on this special day. It will be a special liturgy with a Baptism, Confirmations, and Receptions. There will be a reception to follow in the parish hall.
All Souls’ Day
This year and next year All Soul's falls on the Monday following All Saint's Sunday. At Dean Reed's invitation, St. Mark's and St. Vincent's are joining together to offer a Requiem Mass. This year's Mass will be hosted by St. Vincent's in Bedford on Monday, November 3, 7:30 PM. Next year we will host the Mass here at St. Mark's. Both St. Mark's and St. Vincent's choirs are working hard on music for this Mass. Fr. Crosthwait will be the guest preacher and Dean Reed the celebrant. We invite and encourage your participation this worship. It's a unique opportunity to enjoy fellowship within the diocese and pray for the departed.
For those unable to travel at night, low Mass will be offered in the chapel on Monday, November 3, at 12 PM (noon). At this Mass we will pray for the names shared by the parish family, as is our usual custom.
Fun & Food Fundraiser
What if you could make seven quick-to-prepare homemade, freezer-ready meals for six people? What if by making these meals you would have the opportunity to benefit St. Mark’s? What if you could also check off some of your Christmas shopping list by purchasing cooking-related gifts for friends, loved ones, or yourself at the same time?
Margaret Hearn and Laurie Adams will host a Fun and Food Fundraiser on Saturday, November 8 at 11:00 AM to benefit both the Soup Kitchen and St. Mark's. Guests are invited to purchase kitchen utensils for the Soup Kitchen and for general use in our kitchen. Cash proceeds from the sale of the items purchased (up to 30%) will benefit St. Mark's.
If you would like to participate, please contact the Parish Office via email firstname.lastname@example.org or via phone (817-277-6871) before October 30th to register. You will be given the cost of registration and a shopping list of groceries to bring to prepare your seven take-home ready-to-eat later meals for six. The meals may also be divided into smaller portions, e.g., 21 meals for two, or 14 meals for 3 instead of 7 meals for 6.
We hope you will join us on November 8th for some fun, food, and fundraising!

Benevolence Fund Request
St. Mark’s Parish family, I have recently received appropriate and needed requests for help from within the parish that I have had insufficient benevolence funds to meet. If this is a need that you can assist with, I would deeply appreciate the help, so that I can help others. The target recipients of this fund are members of our own parish family, with occasional help as appropriate and available going to those in the wider community. Thank you for your loving hearts and generous hands. Fr. C+
Reprints of Directory Photos
For any photos that were taken by Jack Unzicker for the directory, anyone is welcome to order prints from this website: jackunzicker.zenfolio.com/stmarksdirectory. It is best to purchase as many prints as you think you could ever need, as the prints are relatively inexpensive compared to the shipping costs. You may also minimize shipping costs by combining your order with friends who are also ordering. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Jack at email@example.com.

If you currently donate to St. Mark’s (or wish to do so) but do not have offering envelopes, please pick up a set of envelopes from the Visitors table in the narthex. Don’t forget to write your name on the envelope so that we can credit your giving record!
If you have books, books on tape, videos, or DVD’s cluttering up your home, please bring them to the bookshelf in the sitting area in Kennedy Hall or contact the Parish Office via email firstname.lastname@example.org or via phone (817-277-6871) for pick up. This is an ongoing fundraiser to supplement Operating Funds.
Grocery Store Card Links
Another great way to benefit St. Mark's with a minimum of effort! If you shop at Tom Thumb, pick up a Reward Card (or use your current one) and link it to #5052. If you shop at Albertsons, you can use a Community Partners Card similarly. If you shop at Kroger, pick up an instruction letter from the Narthex to have your card linked to St. Mark’s. If you have previously linked your Kroger Plus card to St. Mark’s, you will need to renew the link for another year beginning July 1. Inquire for details at the Parish Office (817-277-6871). In all 3 cases, a portion of your purchases will be donated to St. Mark’s Building Fund.
Money Saving Tips
1. At Kroger and Tom Thumb, if you purchase gift cards at those stores (except bank cards) you get bonus gas points. So if you get in the habit of buying and using gift cards for places you frequent all the time, you spend no more money, but actually save (due to gas credits) and also help St. Mark’s with the purchase. Pretty nifty!
2. Receive 10% off groceries at Albertson’s on Dallas Cowboys game day when you wear your Dallas Cowboys jersey (restrictions apply).
The Soup Kitchen serves lunch from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM every Thursday in Kennedy Hall.
Please take notice of the lovely alms boxes in both entrances to the nave. These are for free will and thank offerings of cash to support St. Mark’s Benevolence Fund.
